I completed the questionaire but a message came back that the blogger couldn't be found. I e-mailed Marg Foster. Is there anything else that I need to do at this point? Plus, I would like to find out about receiving credit - how is that done?

Survey at end go through?
Did my response to the survey go through? I got a message that the blogger was not available - so don't know.
Week 9 No. 22
E-books and Audio-E books.
Interesting. My husband has a Kindle and loves it because he doesn't have to go through a computer to get e-books. There are lists of wonderful items here. I found a turnable Chinese book and one with flowers on the British online gallery. I had heard of the Gutenberg Project before and knew there were a lot of items there.
The only thing my students are interested in is downloading music and trying to listen to it in school (against the rules) so I would have a hard time promoting audio books on their players :-) , although it won't hurt to show them how to do it. Took a look at the lists.
The Best Places for free books I added to my bloglines feed lists - also getting enough feeds to index them.

Week 9 No. 21
I have checked Podcasts. I like the educational one, although it does not have an RSS feed on it (or whatever kind of feed I need).
I checked with my administration yesterday. There still is no decision about how to use Internet 2 in our school. They eliminated our websites, moved to another quite less product and are building it as we go along. I can't/won't do anything with it at this point until they get this resolved.
Anyway, the podcasts are cool. I will need to look through them a bit more to get one that is appropriate for our students.

Week 9 No. 20
YouTube. Why didn't I invent this?? I looked at about five "librarian" videos - most were fun or making fun of Librarians but that's OK. Humor is good. The one about the ALA librarians coming and going to Seattle was pretty good. There were songs, stand up comedy - lots of fun. Also educational ones. It was fun to look at.

Week 8 no 19
I already have a Google account. I added content to the site and amended what I had there (and forgot about!)
I may return to this to use with work since they have basically taken away our websites on short notice and replaced it with a free site that is for homework. I don't give homework, so it doesn't replace what I had.

Week 8 no. 18
I created an account with Zoho. It works similiar to Word. My biggest problem is my school is very concerned about confidential information on the web - so I do not think they would agree to use these products if student or staff names were used or for accounting. I can see where it would be good for lists, transferring information.

Week 7 #17
I found blogindexes, even movie previews of old horror films - what a hoot! There is so much to learn. I'm starting to catch on some.
Week 7 16A
Joyce Valenza has some really good ideas and is SO far out there ahead of everyone. I found Nings about where I live and where we will travel to in the future.

Week 7 No. 16 Wikis
Learning about wikis
I was just in Hawaii - didn't know the word came from there. Anyway, there is a lot to learn about wikis and how to make a wiki. The idea sounds good except for the fact that information can be changed. We my students, I'm not sure I could trust what is on the web. This needs to be explored some more.

Week 6 No. 15
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Library 2.0 I found that others are trying to realize how all of this will affect me and the Library I serve. I'm learning but have not yet been able to connect all to what I do. At least I have the resource and some knowledge.

Week 6 - Del.icio.us
I created a Del.icio.us account. I've been looking for a new website and a way to share links - our school's personal websites were dropped with two days notice due to budget cuts. I'm looking for a good free program that works well.
Week 5. 11
Walt Mossberg Feed - All Things Digital is a really cool blog. I can tell he has done this for a long time OR makes it look so easy.
Week 4 - Bloglines
I created a Bloglines account. I added a few RSS feeds but the site went down for maintenance, so I will try these for awhile and then add more.
Week 3 - Technology interests.2
After reading again, I guess I need to talk about the Library technology. I would like a printer that works, a photocopier that has toner and a laminator that can use cheaper laminate!
Week 3 - Technology interests
I want a trap to catch Stink Bugs! In PA they are terrible and there is nothing commercial that attracts and kills them. This is the time of the year that they try to get in the house and hibernate. Here is a real idea that if someone comes up with a safe one, can make a fortune!
Week 3 - Photo ID
Photo ID would work as a hall pass from the Library to the bathroom, nurse, classroom, etc.
Week 3 - Librarian Trading Cards
If I could find someone to make a cartoon drawing of me, I might try this in place of a business card.
Flickr Week 3

I finally got back to working on this project.
Took a look at Flickr and found the above site. I've been working on Genealogy this summer and have gotten into Markles. Here was a picture taken in IN of a historic mill started by a Markle. We have no idea where our ancesters originally came from, so maybe this is a small clue - I doubt it but it sounds good!
